Country support mechanism (Country support)
KIX’s Country Support Mechanism is a direct response to the emerging demand expressed by countries through regional and national dialogues and consultations.
This mechanism used by SUMMA is an additional component to complement existing methods of research, knowledge mobilization and capacity building. The mechanism specifically addresses the call by national stakeholders for a customized approach that focuses on and aligns with each country’s unique educational challenges and priorities.
The main objective of the Country Support Mechanism is to facilitate the rapid and targeted provision of evidence, policy assistance and capacity building to GPE member countries. It aims to address thematic priorities while being flexible enough to adapt to each nation’s specific educational challenges and capabilities, all closely linked to key policy moments.

Learning visits
Ethe visit of some representatives of KIX LAC partner countries to another country to personally experience the implementation of a program/policy from which they wish to learn. As a result of this experience, it is expected to acquire new knowledge, tools and implementation perspectives, as well as to learn about the different implementation possibilities, their benefits and costs, and to build networks with people and organizations with similar challenges. Some of the activities that correspond to the learning trips are discussion sessions to plan and define the route to follow, field visits, interviews with the implementing team/project managers/decision-makers of the visiting country, and the preparation of an action plan as a follow-up to define and internalize what has been learned, among others.
Field visits
The field visits seek to deepen SUMMA – KIX LAC relations with representatives and stakeholders, as well as to identify priority issues in the country to work on together. During the visits, the following are discussed country priorities, reviewing and validating existing priorities and identifying possible new ones.
