Educational Practices and Policies Evaluation Area

What does it consist of?
SUMMA’s evaluation area seeks to rigorously and systematically study the effects and results of educational policies and programmes aimed at improving the quality and equity of the region’s educational systems. From an educational justice perspective, the evaluation area deploys diverse methodological strategies, which are both quantitative and qualitative, to demonstrate the way and degree to which these policies and programmes favour the closing of gaps, to improve teaching and learning, and to contribute to greater educational justice in education systems.
Project objectives

To promote and generate evaluations of promising educational programmes to improve the students’ learning and to close the educational gap of those students in situations of greater socio-educational vulnerability.

To identify and understand innovative practices and programmes that make a difference in improving teaching and learning processes.

To generate indicators and comprehensive evaluation tools to identify gaps and areas for improvement at local and regional levels.

To promote and mobilize learning from a culture of collaboration among the different actors in the system, linking research and practice around the generation of new evidence.

Evaluation carried out in 2020 at Liceo América de los Andes, allowing for the identification of promising results and opportunities for improvement, giving way to its impact evaluation.
The impact evaluation of the Pioneer Model aims to learn and build a comprehensive evaluation system that accounts for the impact generated by the programme not only in cognitive skills, but also incorporating 21st century skills and student trajectories during the 2022-2024 period.
