{"id":88491,"date":"2024-04-25T00:53:47","date_gmt":"2024-04-25T04:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/sin-categoria\/encuentro-con-la-fundacion-zamora-teran-una-de-las-4-iniciativas-premiadas-por-summa-kix-lac\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T01:06:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T04:06:15","slug":"encuentro-con-la-fundacion-zamora-teran-una-de-las-4-iniciativas-premiadas-por-summa-kix-lac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/en\/news\/kix\/meeting-with-the-zamora-teran-foundation\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting with the Zamora Ter\u00e1n Foundation, one of the 4 initiatives awarded by SUMMA-KIX LAC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUMMA \u2013 KIX LAC executives met with the Zamora Ter\u00e1n Foundation to discuss the progress of the\u00a0<strong>Conecta Aprende,<\/strong>\u00a0the winning initiative of the 2nd edition of the\u00a0<em>Call for Innovative Initiatives for Educational Justice<\/em>\u00a0of the LAB-ED Educational Innovations Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the work carried out by the Foundation was presented, especially in teacher training, evidence to improve quality and technological integration.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Garrido, Executive Director for Latin America of the Zamora Ter\u00e1n Foundation, highlighted SUMMA\u2019s support for the growth of the project thanks to the prestige of being one of the award-winning initiatives in the region. To date, the project has been accompanied by more than 3,000 teachers and 12,850 volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionzt.org\/que-hacemos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\ud83d\udd16Conecta Aprende<\/a><\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Conecta Aprende is a teacher professional development program focused on the transition to virtuality, digital literacy and reading and writing that has been implemented in Nicaragua and Honduras since 2020. It adopts a structured pedagogy approach and relies on the integration of technology, based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) model, which emphasizes the necessary linkage between the different knowledge and domains of the teacher: disciplinary, pedagogical and technological.<\/p>\n<p>The program allows teaching the use of virtual platforms for didactic purposes and integrates families in the process of children\u2019s learning. It also aims to develop the profile of the 21st century teacher or teacher 4.0 (a digital citizen, a humanist teacher 360 and a manager of meaningful learning). A teacher capable of positively impacting student learning with a focus on literacy.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Target audience:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Primary school teachers between 18 and 50 years old (1st to 6th grade), in Nicaragua and Honduras.
