{"id":84043,"date":"2025-07-02T15:07:03","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T19:07:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/sin-categoria\/eti-presente-en-el-encuentro-regional-2025-de-kix-lac-hub\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T10:16:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:16:07","slug":"eti-presente-en-el-encuentro-regional-2025-de-kix-lac-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/en\/sin-categoria\/eti-at-the-kix-lac-hub-2025-regional-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"ETI at the KIX LAC Hub 2025 Regional Meeting: Evidence for Educational Transformation and Social Justice in Latin America and the Caribbean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eti.tpdatscalecoalition.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Empowering Teachers Initiative (ETI)<\/a> participated in the KIX LAC Hub Regional Meeting, organized by KIX LAC Hub, led by SUMMA and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), with the support of the Ministry of Education of Guatemala, Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and International Development Research Centre (IDRC).<\/p>\n<p>The event took place over 3 days, June 18, 19 and 20, in Antigua, Guatemala and was attended by more than 100 educational leaders from Belize, Bolivia, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as senior representatives of regional and global agencies, such as GPE, IDRC, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank, the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), UNESCO and UNICEF, among others; as well as other partner institutions such as Yidan Prize Foundation, Fundaci\u00f3n Educaci\u00f3n 2020, Fundaci\u00f3n Educo, GRADE, and Pratham Education Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-84029 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC08961-300x169.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC08961-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/summaedu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC08961-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/summaedu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC08961.webp 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>ETI\u2019s participation took place during the second day of the meeting, during a session of presentation and discussion, where Dante Castillo-Canales, Director of Policy and Innovative Practices at SUMMA and ETI Project Leader, gave a brief presentation on the initiative. He discussed its purpose, components and shared some of the tools that have been made available by ETI, such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eti.tpdatscalecoalition.org\/gesi-framework\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GESI Framework for researchers<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cThrough ETI\u2019s research, we were able to identify key elements within the education system to create scalable, high-quality teacher training systems\u201d, he commented.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the participation of the meeting\u2019s attendees and their interest in ETI, Castillo-Canales commented that \u201cRepresentatives from ministries of education, civil society and academia expressed strong interest in learning how ETI\u2019s findings can contribute to rethinking their teacher professional development systems.
