{"id":81268,"date":"2025-01-16T16:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T19:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.summaedu.org\/sin-categoria\/summa-y-kix-lac-ministerio-de-educacion-de-guatemala\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T23:41:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T02:41:00","slug":"summa-y-kix-lac-ministerio-de-educacion-de-guatemala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/en\/news\/kix\/summa-and-kix-lac-ministry-of-education-of-guatemalas\/","title":{"rendered":"SUMMA and KIX LAC strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Guatemala to promote strategic actions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Monday , January 13th , <\/span><b>SUMMA &#8211; KIX LAC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Ministry of Education of Guatemala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> held a meeting to strengthen cooperation in the development of evidence-based educational evidence-based education policies and to coordinate strategic actions. Present were <strong>Anabella Giracca, Minister; and Carlos Aldana, Vice-Minister of Extracurricular and Alternative Education, from the Guatemalan Ministry of Education<\/strong>; and on behalf of <strong>SUMMA, Javier Gonz\u00e1lez, Director; and Ra\u00fal Chac\u00f3n, Director of the KIX LAC Program<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">During the meeting, various initiatives were discussed to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing in the region. One of the main topics discussed was the possibility of holding a joint KIX LAC face-to-face meeting in Guatemala in June. This event will bring together close to 70 educational leaders and specialists from more than ten countries, with the aim of fostering dialogue and cooperation on the region&#8217;s educational challenges. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">In addition , an invitation was extended to Guatemala to participate actively in the KIX LAC Center, by proposing between four and five representatives from the country to join the Hub. It was suggested that these delegates come from different sectors, including the Ministry of Education, academia, civil society and teachers&#8217; unions or guilds, in order to enrich the diversity of perspectives and strengthen collaborative work in the region. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another of the key points discussed was the definition of a priority theme for the country and the possibility of a <a href=\"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/en\/news\/kix\/technical-learning-visits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technical Learning Visit<\/a> t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o another country in the region. This would allow for a deeper exchange of experiences and lessons learned in the selected area. In addition, the option of complementing this initiative with the <\/span><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/summaedu.org\/en\/news\/kix\/country-support-mechanism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Country support mechanism<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which would provide the opportunity to finance studies or specific technical specific studies or technical advice for the design of programs or policies in the defined area. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Finally, an invitation was presented to the Ministry to participate in the <em>Knowledge Mobilization Cycle: Use of Evidence for the Early Childhood Education and Care<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which will run throughout 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday , January 13th , SUMMA &#8211; KIX LAC and the Ministry of Education of Guatemala held a meeting to strengthen cooperation in the development of evidence-based educational evidence-based education policies and to coordinate strategic actions.
